Guests will go crazy for this zany-faced dessert. No one will guess it all started with a guitar-shaped cake! And, none of the decorating required a bag or tip! Vary "its" look by changing icing colors and candies used. Let your imagination run wacky!
Serves 12.
Spray Guitar Pan with vegetable pan spray. Bake your favorite 2-layer cake recipe or mix in prepared pan. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely. Cut off neck portion of guitar cake. Place cake on foil-wrapped cake board cut to fit.
Tint buttercream icing violet with icing color; thin to spreading consistency. Spatula ice cake smooth.
In separate small bowls, melt lavender and yellow Candy Melts following package instructions. Dip marshmallows and sugar cubes in melted candy. Place on parchment lined cookie pan; refrigerate until set, about 5 minutes.
Roll out taffy; cut into shapes with 2 sizes of leaf Cut-Out. Position on “face”. Flatten black gum drops with small rolling pin on surface sprinkled with granulated sugar. Cut mouth shape; position on face. Arrange dipped sugar cube “teeth,” marshmallow “nose” and “ears”, and gum drop “pupils”. Insert licorice “hair” into cake.
