Step 1: Make Cereal Treat
Cut cake board to fit pan; cover with foil. Spray pan with vegetable pan spray. Prepare 2 recipes of Crisp Rice Cereal Treat. Press cereal mixture into prepared pan. Unmold onto cake board.
Step 2: Spatula Ice The Treat
Spatula ice sail area with thinned white buttercream icing; position peppermint stick “booms”. Tint remaining buttercream icing brown. Spatula ice ship portion of treat; mark wooden “planks” in icing surface using edge of spatula.
Step 3: Add Candy Decorations
Roll out yellow taffy; cut into flag shape and position on treat. Roll out purple taffy; cut into numeral (or other message) and position on flag. Roll out chocolate nougat candy into ropes; position as sail mast. Position jelly ring “portholes” on ship. Fill ship’s deck with spice drops, candy-coated chocolates and fruit-flavored round candies. Add half jelly ring crow’s nest and top of mast.
