For those who won't go quietly into their next milestone decade (30s, 40s, 50s and 60s!), this cake will bring them to justice. Surrounded by brightly-hued candles, with a bottom ring of rainbow candies and a shower of vivid sprinkles on the cake side suggest that life will be sweeter and more colorful than ever.

Serves 20.

Step 1

Step 1: Make Cookie Topper

Roll out cookie dough; cut cookie using largest gingerbread boy cutter from set. Bake and cool. Using royal icing, outline shirt and pants with tip 3. Cover shirt, pants and shoes with tip 16 stars. Pipe tip 16 pull-out star hair. Add tip 3 dot eyes; position mini candy-coated chocolates for pupils. Cut a piece of licorice for mouth; attach with icing. Roll out spice drops on waxed paper sprinkled with sugar; cut out hand shapes with scissors or knife. Attach to cookie with icing. Pipe tip 2 birthday number. Let dry.

Step 2

Step 2: Bake The Cake

Bake your favorite 2-layer cake recipe or mix in round pan. Cool cake in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely. Assemble cake on foil-wrapped cake circle. Using spatula, ice cake smooth in buttercream. Immediately press jimmies on sides, leaving a portion at front of cake clear. Pipe tip 2 message. Pipe tip 21 rosette bottom border; position large candy-coated chocolates in centers. Attach cookie to lollipop sticks with melted candy; let set. Pipe tip 16 rosette candleholders on top edge of cake; insert cookie and candles.
