Covering a cake with rolled fondant is easier than you think. Have your cake iced with a thin layer of buttercream icing before you begin. Knead the fondant to a workable consistency. After it is pliable, roll the fondant to approximately 1/8 inch thickness. Next, gently lift the fondant over the cake and adhere it to the cake with an Easy-Glide Smoother for the smoothest surface. After it is firmly attached to the top and sides of the cake, cut off any excess fondant using a spatula or sharp knife.
