We LOVE your show but our local PBS station doesn’t always air it so I have to rely on your website. My question is I have packages of both chocolate flavored bark and vanilla flavored bark. What exactly is “bark” and what can I do with it? Keep up the fantastic job that you do. It is a very educational show!!

Janis - from Defiance, MO

Bark is used as a candy coating. It is commonly available in a variety of flavors including vanilla, chocolate, and butterscotch. Bark is made from sugar, partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil, whey powder (milk), soy lecithin, and artificial flavor. It is used in the same ways as Candy Melts are, to make a variety of candy-coated treats such as chocolate or vanilla covered pretzels, cereal bar treats or snack mixes and many other homemade candies.
