The easiest way to get cupcakes the same size is to measure the amount of batter you place in each cupcake liner. This can be done with measuring cups or spoons or with an ice cream scoop. The measuring cups need to be scraped out, which makes it a bit more tedious to use; ice cream scoops have the sweep mechanism which scrapes out the batter for you.
