I've been looking into using edible paint. I have seen a lot of techniques but when I tried it the purple turned to blue. What is a good technique or product to buy for edible paint?

Many food-safe purple dyes fade to blue over time, whether it be edible paint, icing color, or something else. For a matte finish, I use Wilton Color Dust. It can be painted on dry for a more subtle effect or mixed with a few drops of clear vanilla extract to make a paint. Pearl Dust is used the same way, but has a beautiful, lusterous finsh. Both Color Dust and Pearl Dust come in a variety of colors, including purple.
