I have arthritis in my hands and have difficulty kneading gum paste. Can my stand mixer be used?

I do not recommend using an electric or stand mixer to knead gum paste or fondant because they are so firm that they could cause the motor of your machine to jam and break. Both gum paste and rolled fondant are too firm to knead with an electric mixer, even with a dough hook.
