Heating cores are easy to use! Simply prepare both the inside and outside of the heating core the same way you prepare your pan – either grease or spray with vegetable pan spray. Fill the core 2/3 full with cake batter. Pour the remaining batter into the baking pan and place the filled core into the center of the pan. Bake following recipe instructions. After baking is complete, cool the cake in the pan 10-15 minutes (or follow recipe instructions). Remove the heating core from the pan first, and remove the baked cake from the heating core. Remove the baked cake from the pan; cool both the cake and the core. Insert the “core” of cake into the hole in the cake layer; stack, fill and ice as desired!
