I have heard that fondant will keep for 2 weeks, 2 months or even 6 months. Exactly how long can you keep it? How long can royal icing be kept? Buttercream?

Rolled fondant will keep for up to 2 months when stored in an airtight container at room temperature. It should not be refrigerated or frozen. Royal icing can be stored in an airtight, grease-free container at room temperature for 2 weeks. Buttercream icing can be refrigerated in an airtight container for 2 weeks.
