When using boiled icing, how do you apply it to the cake? What kind of consistency comes from this particular recipe?

Athena - from London, CA

The boiled icing on our website creates a light, airy textured icing for smooth flowing decorations and luxurious iced cakes. I would consider it a softer icing. To ice your cake with this icing, use a spatula. Then, place icing in a decorating bag for decorating; you may need to make it stiffer using more confectioners' sugar. It's ideal for borders, figure piping, writing and stringwork. It makes beautiful bright or pastel colors.
