There are two ways to level and trim your cake layers. One way is to use a serrated knife. To use a serrated knife, place your cake on a turn table and, using a gentle sawing motion, cut through the cake while turning the turn table. The other way is to use a Wilton Cake Leveler. This tool will give you even and level layers every time because it has an adjustable wire that cuts through the cake. Just place your cake on a level surface, adjust the wire to the proper height and gently cut through the cake. And it can be used on cakes up to 10 inches round.
