You featured the square Violet Cascade Cake is decorated with purple flowers on one of your shows. What tips do you have to create that lovely effect of cascading flowers?

When you have all your flowers made and dried (see Drop Flowers Technique instructions) and you are ready to decorate the cake with them, start by adding a mound of buttercream icing where you'd like your first cascade of flowers to go. Then, start placing drop flowers on the icing mound. As you are adding flowers, layer flowers on top of flowers (add a dot of icing to the back of the drop flower before placing) until you have a look that's appealing to you. Repeat on different areas of the cake.
