In the commercial baking world, a 1/4 sheet pan is 13x9x2 or 12x8x2; a 2 layer (total 4-inches high) quarter sheet cake would serve 35-40 party size (1-1/2" x 2") servings. For a cake that rises to the top of the pan, you would need 7 cups batter. A half sheet pan is 18x13x2, makes 45-50 party-size servings; it requires 14 cups batter.
