I tried making rice cereal treats but is was a total failure. I want to use it to make a cell phone and other decorations for a handbag cake. My rice cereal treats were so sticky that they would not come off the the wax paper. What would you suggest? I have to bake the cake in May and want to try it before the time. Thank you

It takes some time for rice cereal treats to firm up after they are mixed together. The marshmallows have to cool off and meld with everything else, and then it feels less sticky and is easier to handle. If you let them settle a bit, and it was still sticky, there were probably too many marshmallows in your treats. Next time try adding a little less. You could also try spraying your parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray so the treats will come right off.
