I've been looking for flora satin waterproof ribbon to put at the bottom of each layer of my wedding cake and have been unable to find the color I need. (navy blue) I was wondering if I could use dark blue fondant instead? Will this bleed onto the white cake?

Leigh Ann - from Dallas, TX

Fondant will only bleed onto a cake if it is exposed to moisture. This can happen if you refrigerate your cake. Refrigeration causes condensation that can result in the fondant becoming sticky and/or bleeding onto the cake. If your cake is kept at room temperature, the fondant will not bleed onto the cake.
