Ask Nancy
Hi Nancy! In the episode when you made flag cookies, I thought you used royal icing (with 2 different consistencies, thick and thin) so I bought meringue powder, but then I saw you needed color flow. Will there be difference if I use royal icing?

Either Color Flow Icing or Royal Icing can be used for decorating cookies. Both make briliantly colored icings and are used in the same way to decorate cookies (thicker icing for outlining and decorating details; thinner icing for "flowing in" icing between outlines.) Royal icing tends to dry more matte in appearance, while Color Flow Icing is a bit more shiny.
