Some recipes, like for icing, require corn syrup. Can I replace the corn syrup with golden syrup?

Rahayu - from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

While golden syrup can be substituted for corn syrup in baking and cooking, I wouldn’t advise using it for thinning icing. As its name implies, golden syrup has a golden tint, which would yellow your icing and you would not get the true icing colors when you tint the icing.
