If I make buttercream with powdered meringue and water does it need refrigeration? I am planning to make the day before and serve the next evening. Thanks so much!

It's best if you keep the icing in a covered air-tight container in the refrigerator overnight. It will keep up to 2 weeks this way. Before using, it's best to beat it again.
Once on a cake, the icing should be okay at room temperature for 2-3 days.
