Is "non-toxic artists' chalk" the same as "non-toxic chalk? Is it edible?

Yes, "non-toxic artists' chalk" and "non-toxic chalk" can be used interchangeably. Usually, the "non-toxic chalk" describes chalk that children use, while "non-toxic artists' chalk" is used by professionals and is available in a larger variety of colors and shades. As long as the package indicates "non-toxic", the chalk can be used to decorate edible items.
