I am making fondant flowers and hearts for a birthday cake, and the decorations are white from the powdered sugar. How do I get them glossy and shiny again?

If you roll and cut your fondant decorations on a Roll N Cut mat, you won't need to use as much confectioners' sugar, or any at all! The Roll N Cut mat provides a nonstick surface for rolling out fondant decorations. Try it out!

For now, rub your decorations with a bit of vegetable shortening to melt the confectioners' sugar.
