First, make sure you are following a recipe supplied with your cookie press – these are kitchen tested using the press you are using. Often grandma's cookie recipe isn't quite the right texture to work well in modern cookie presses. Make sure you measure the ingredients properly – too little or too much of certain ingredients could change the texture of the dough, making it hard to release from the press. Finally, we don't suggest using cookie sheets with nonstick surfaces – they're too slippery and won't allow the cookie dough to hold onto the sheet.
