Hi, Nancy, if clear vanilla extract is not available, can I use the regular vanilla extract or the powdered one?

Yes, you can use either as a substitute for the clear vanilla extract. When using pure vanilla extract, icing might have just a slight brown tint – most people probably won’t notice, and if you are coloring the icing, there should be no problems at all!
